The Return of the Matriarchy

The Rise of the Divine Feminine

Awakening of Isis/Auset

We don’t retreat, we return.

Heissa Island, Aswan, Egypt

A Nubian matriarch in cream linen leads a procession of women up stone temple steps towards the Nile

Isis / Auset

The Great Mother

At Nubian Royals Sanctuary, we honour Isis, known as Auset, as the Great Mother: mother of the land, guardian of sacred wisdom, and the divine feminine at the heart of this return.

In our spiritual understanding, the Earth belongs to the Mother. Her wealth is life itself—the waters, the soil, the nourishment and the wisdom carried through generations. We belong to this living Earth, and with that belonging comes responsibility.

The Return of the Matriarchy is a call to honour the women who carried us, give voice to what was silenced, and reclaim authority through truth, care and balance.

Here on Heissa Island, beside the Nile, we gather through ceremony, voice, movement, sound and stillness. With Isis/Auset at Philae woven into our journey, we make space for ancestral remembrance and the rise of the divine feminine within ourselves.

For the woman who has held everyone else, there is a place here for you to be held.

Together, we choose what we carry forward for the next seven generations.

The core teachings

The throne must answer
to the feather.

Teaching 1

The Return of the Mother

The Great Mother is source, creator, protector and keeper of wisdom — yet she is revered in spirit while living women are overlooked in practice. We bring the question home, making real room for grief, power, tenderness, anger, creativity and longing. These are not problems to be fixed; they are parts of you that have been waiting to be heard.

Teaching 2

Auset and the Living Throne

Auset — whom the Greeks called Isis — gathered what had been scattered and made it whole. She is sacred feminine authority: not authority over others, but authority rooted in one's own being. The throne must answer to the feather of Ma'at — truth, balance, justice. Love and sovereignty can live in the same body.

Teaching 3

The Mother Line and Sacred Inheritance

Behind every woman stands a line of women — the gifts and the wounds both came down to us. What am I carrying? What belongs to me, and what was handed to me? We honour our ancestors with honesty about pain, because truth is what sets the next generation free. Every way of mothering is welcome here.

Teaching 4

The Underworld and the Work of Return

The underworld is where what has been buried waits — in the body, in the grief, in the inherited silences. Dhyani speaks from more than twenty-five years of meeting what was buried in her own line: testimony, not theory. What is met with honesty loses its power to run your life from the dark.

Teaching 5

From Isolation to Remembrance and Community

Isolation → self-discovery → remembrance → tribe. Sisterhood must have substance: listening, boundaries, shared responsibility and real care. We do not disappear into each other. We stand, each on her own throne, together.

Teaching 6

The Return of Ma'at

Matriarchy is not women ruling over men. It is the restoration of life-centred values: care for children and elders, respect for the earth and the water, and responsibility to the generations who come after us. The return of the Mother is not the exile of the Father; it is the restoration of a broken balance.

Teaching 7

The Nile and Nubian Land

This retreat happens in a real place, among real people. Heissa Island is a living Nubian community, not a resort set apart from one. The Nile here is not scenery, and nearby stands Philae, where Auset was honoured for thousands of years. We go and stand where she was loved.

The seven-day journey

A proposed rhythm,
held lightly.

Everything in this journey is proposed. Activities, timings and practical details are not yet confirmed and will be finalised with participants before booking. The shape below shows how the teachings would be given room to be lived, not just heard. Rest, choice and integration are built in deliberately — a full schedule is not the goal.

Day 1

Arrival and the Threshold

Arrivals at Aswan, transfer to Heissa Island and settling into the sanctuary. Evening opening circle at the Love Temple: introductions, intentions and the first teaching — The Return of the Mother. Early night; the work begins gently.

Day 2

Auset and the Living Throne

Teaching and guided reflection on Auset as Mother and embodiment of sacred feminine authority. Gentle movement beside the river (proposed, always optional), afternoon rest and integration, and an evening circle: the throne must answer to the feather.

Day 3

The Mother Line

Teaching on the mother line and sacred inheritance — the gifts and the wounds. Guided ancestral reflection and writing: what am I carrying, and what belongs to me? One-to-one time with Dhyani begins (proposed), and an evening of sound and stillness.

Day 4

The Underworld

Teaching on the underworld and the work of return, with Dhyani's testimony from twenty-five years of ancestral clearing. Body-based practice (proposed), rest and continued one-to-one time, and an evening fireside circle of honesty about pain.

Day 5

Philae — Standing Where She Was Loved

Boat journey and visit to the Isis/Auset at Philae (proposed; arrangements to be confirmed). Guided remembrance practice at the temple, then return to Heissa for rest, integration and a gentle evening circle.

Day 6

From Isolation to Tribe — and the Return of Ma'at

Teaching on isolation, self-discovery, remembrance and tribe — sisterhood with substance. Paired and group practices of witnessing and being witnessed (proposed), teaching on the return of Ma'at, and an evening celebration ceremony at the Love Temple.

Day 7

Integration and Departure

Closing circle: what am I carrying home, and what am I leaving here? A blessing beside the Nile (proposed), then transfers and departures from Aswan.

The sanctuary & your guide

Inside the sanctuary: a large gold filigree lantern hangs beneath the domed ceiling above white seating, with the Nile and boats visible through the arched opening

Earth beneath you.
The Nile beside you.

This retreat does not happen in an abstract sacred space. Nubian Royals Sanctuary sits on Heissa Island in the Nile at Aswan — a living Nubian community, not a resort set apart from one. The river here is not scenery. The Love Temple at the sanctuary is a space built for exactly this kind of gathering.

The retreat is guided by Dhyani Love, who has spent more than twenty-five years in healing work and in clearing her own ancestral line, and more than thirty-five years travelling and sitting with spiritual traditions across the world. She does not stand before you as someone who has arrived — she stands as a woman who has done, and is still doing, the work she is asking you to consider.

Practical questions

Before your return.

When is The Return of the Matriarchy?

The seven-day retreat is planned for 18–24 January 2027. These dates are planned and will be confirmed with participants before any booking is taken. Enquire with Dhyani for the latest details.

How do I enquire or apply?

Send the short enquiry form on this page, or use either WhatsApp link to open a prefilled message to Dhyani Love. Nothing is booked automatically: Dhyani talks with you first, and only after she approves your place will she send you a personal deposit invitation.

What is the price, and what is included?

The Early Bird price is £2,500 GBP per person and the Standard price is £2,750 GBP per person. A £500 deposit secures an approved place and is credited against your total, leaving £2,000 or £2,250. Dhyani agrees your rate and balance date with you personally before any payment. The group is limited to 10 women. Room sharing, meals, transfers and the daily programme are still to be confirmed and will be settled with you before booking.

Is the visit to Philae confirmed?

A boat journey and visit to the Isis/Auset at Philae is proposed and woven into the teachings, but the timing and arrangements are still to be confirmed. The shape of the journey on this page shows how the teachings would be given room to be lived, not just heard.

Do I need experience, or have to join every practice?

No previous spiritual practice is needed. Every practice is an invitation. Rest is part of the work, and your consent, personal boundaries and choice to pause or not participate are respected. You are a woman, not a programme to be completed.

Is this retreat medical or psychological treatment?

No. This is spiritual and personal work, not medical or psychological treatment, and it does not replace either. Nothing here is a promise of healing outcomes. Please continue any professional care you need.

Care & choice

Your boundaries matter.

The retreat is intended to provide a respectful, inclusive and trauma-aware environment. Ceremonies, movement, sound, stillness and group sharing are voluntary. You may pause, decline or leave any activity at any time without pressure or penalty.

  • Personal boundaries, privacy and confidentiality must be respected. No one should be pressured to disclose trauma, personal history, medical information or spiritual experiences.
  • Consult a qualified healthcare professional before attending if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or recently postpartum, take medication, or have mental health or trauma-related concerns that could be affected by group practices.
  • Concerns may be raised privately with the retreat team and will be taken seriously. For urgent safety or medical concerns, contact emergency services or qualified medical care.
